In honor of my 1 year anniversary of completing my cancer treatment, I am raising money for the Benson Cancer Center.
I was officially diagnosed on April 4th of 2022 with Stage 3 Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma. Throughout my diagnosis, I have had many biopsies, scans, two surgeries (parotidectomy and lymphadenectomy), and six weeks of radiation treatments. Throughout my time with the Benson Cancer Center, I was assigned a care team that truly walked by my side the entire process. The Benson Cancer Center takes into account every detail of a patient’s process in order to provide the most efficient and holistic care.
Although many are educated on early detection and treatment options, I’ve come to realize that not many people are aware of the life changes that come with a diagnosis and treatment. As their “new normal” changes, patients have to spend a lot of money to afford fresh and healthy foods, protein powders, meal supplement drinks, medications, mouth care, wound care, etc. These costs add up and I am so blessed to be able to have this opportunity to join Ochsner Health in creating my fundraiser to help patients get through the unimaginable.
This facility has provided so much for me and has saved my life. With your donations, the center will be able to give back even more to the patients that it treats.
Ochsner Health is a not-for-profit committed to giving back to the communities it serves through preventative screenings, health and wellness resources and partnerships with innovative organizations that share our vision.
